Referrals

 

We welcome referrals from individuals, families and professionals seeking trauma-informed art therapy.

Whether you are making a referral for yourself, your child, or someone you support, we aim to make the process simple and collaborative.

 

 

Who Can Refer?

 

We receive referrals through these sources:

  • Self-referrals

  • Parents, carers and family members

  • NDIS Support coordinators & Plan managers

  • General Practitioners (GPs) - MHCP unfortunately do not cover art therapy at present

  • Psychologists, psychiatrists and counsellors

  • Paediatricians and allied health professionals

  • Community organisations

  • Family violence services & victim support services

  • NDIS providers

Funding Options

 

Sessions may be accessed through:

  • Private referrals

  • NDIS (Self-Managed and Plan-Managed)

  • Victims of Crime Financial Assistance Scheme (Victoria)

  • Victim Support Services (NSW)

  • Family violence and community-funded programs (where approved)

  • Private health insurance (where rebates are available)

Fees vary depending on your funding pathway, please contact us for more information.

Soar Art Therapy provides NDIS-funded art therapy and counselling for self-managed and plan-managed participants.

Soar Art Therapy is led by Vicki Soar, a registered art psychotherapist and victim services counsellor with extensive experience supporting children, teens and adults.

Vicki is a:

  • Full Professional Clinical Member (AThR) of the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA)

  • Level 4 Member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA)

  • Registered Victim Support Counsellor (NSW)

Sessions are trauma-informed, evidence-informed, and individually tailored to support each participant's NDIS goals while building emotional wellbeing, communication, resilience, participation, and independence.

Where Sessions Take Place

We offer flexible, creative support across multiple settings:

  • In-person at our studio in Balaclava

  • Outreach sessions at schools, homes or community spaces (where available)

  • Online sessions via secure Telehealth, tailored to meet your goals and preferences

ABOUT SOAR ART THERAPY

 

Soar Art Therapy is a Melbourne based mental health service offering in person and online art therapy and play therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. We provide trauma-informed, neuroaffirming support using evidence-based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), creative expression, and sensory regulation techniques.


Founded by Vicki Soar, a registered Art Psychotherapist with ANZACATA and clinical member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). Vicki is also a registered as a victim support counsellor for victims of crime, member of the Trauma Recovery Network Australia.
