Art Therapy & the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)
Art Therapy is a gentle and powerful way to explore emotions, build confidence, and support wellbeing—without needing words. Sometimes we feel stuck or overwhelmed, and traditional talking therapies don’t quite reach what’s going on inside. That’s where Art Therapy comes in.
Using creative tools like drawing, painting, collage, sculpture and more, clients can express themselves in a safe and supportive space. No art skills needed—just a willingness to give it a go. Our sessions are completely person-centred, trauma-informed, and based on evidence-based approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

At Soar Art Therapy, we support:
-
Children and teens with anxiety, autism, ADHD, trauma, situational mutism, and emotional regulation challenges
-
Adults navigating PTSD, chronic health issues, stress, or life transitions
-
Parents wanting to build stronger communication and emotional connection with their children

NDIS and Creative Therapies
Soar Art Therapy proudly works with NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan-managed.
Creative therapies like Art Therapy are a valuable support for people living with disability, because they:
-
Allow self-expression without relying on words
-
Help reduce stress, anxiety and overwhelm
-
Support emotional regulation and coping skills
-
Improve self-esteem and confidence
-
Build social and daily living skills
-
Offer a safe outlet for processing trauma, grief or frustration
-
Can be tailored to suit physical, cognitive or developmental needs
We work closely with clients, families, support coordinators and plan managers to make therapy as accessible and effective as possible.
