Sessions can be provided at home, in schools, in our balaclava practice or online.

Individual Art Therapy

Therapy suitable for children, teenagers and adults.

Art therapy provides a safe space to explore emotions, process difficult experiences and build new skills to move towards your goals. No artistic experience is needed.

We help people who need support with:

  • Trauma symptoms and PTSD 

  • Anxiety (including OCD)

  • Depression

  • Emotional regulation

  • ADHD and autism ASD (neurodivergence)

  • Relationship challenges (including retroactive jealousy)

  • Separation anxiety

  • Situational/selective mutism

  • School refusal

  • Chronic and terminal illnesses

  • Play, communication and social skills

Sessions combine evidence-based Art Therapy with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). For younger children, play therapy approaches are also incorporated.

Available:

  • In our Balaclava studio

  • Schools, homes and community settings (where available)

  • Secure online sessions

Victim Services

 

Trauma-informed support for people affected by crime, family violence and sexual assault.

Support is gentle, collaborative and tailored to each person's needs.

 

This may include:

  • Building grounding and regulation skills

  • Specialised trauma treatment to help the person achieve their goals

  • Reports and documentation

  • Support navigating victim support services

Vicki has extensive experience supporting children, teens and adults who have experienced trauma, including sexual assault, family violence and acts of terrorism. She has worked alongside specialist trauma services, supported clients through police investigations and court processes, and is a registered Victim Services Counsellor (NSW) and a member of the Trauma Recovery Network Australia.

Available through eligible funding pathways private referrals, NDIS, Salvation Army, Orange Door, including Victorian and NSW Victim Services. Please contact for more info on work cover.

Parent & Carer Support

 

Supporting the people who support the child.

 

These sessions provide a space to:

  • Review progress

  • Develop practical strategies

  • Work towards shared goals

  • Collaborate with schools and other professionals

Sessions are 50 minutes, can be in person, on the phone or online.

ABOUT SOAR ART THERAPY

 

Soar Art Therapy is a Melbourne based mental health service offering in person and online art therapy and play therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. We provide trauma-informed, neuroaffirming support using evidence-based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), creative expression, and sensory regulation techniques.


Founded by Vicki Soar, a registered Art Psychotherapist with ANZACATA and clinical member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). Vicki is also a registered as a victim support counsellor for victims of crime, member of the Trauma Recovery Network Australia.
