Our Services

Soar Art Therapy offer a range of services personalised to each client. If there is something you are after that isn't listed below, please reach out as we may still be able to support you. 

Individual Art Therapy

Individual Art Therapy involves one-on-one sessions using creative processes. Vicki has had special training to support individuals affected by:

  • Trauma (including special training in responding to sexual assault and crime)

  • Depression

  • Relationship issues, including retroactive jealousy OCD and limerence 

  • Anxiety

  • Separation anxiety

  • Situational mutism

  • Emotional regulation issues

  • Challenges related to neurodiversity (ASD, ADHD)

 It is suitable for both adults and children, and no previous art experience is required.

Sessions are 50 minutes and use evidence-based Art Therapy interventions and acceptance commitment therapy skills. For young children Vicki will also incorporate play therapy interventions.

Sessions are available:

  • In person at the Balaclava studio

  • Via outreach at schools, homes, or community centres (where available)

  • Online via secure telehealth

 

Soar Art Therapy supports private clients, bulk-funded referrals, and NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan-managed.​ Clients can also access sessions if they have private health insurance.

Child Hugging Parent
Parent and Carer Support

Parent and carer support appointments are a platform to explore how a child is progressing in therapy and allow an assessment of goals. These appointments are also suitable for schools and service providers to discuss goals and support a client collaboratively. This session usually has a duration of 50 minutes.

Victim Services 

Vicki is a registered Victim Services Counsellor and has worked with individuals affected by family violence, sexual assault, and a range of violent and traumatic incidents, including victims impacted by the Bondi attack.

Support within Victim Services is trauma-informed, paced gently, and centred on safety, choice, and stabilisation.

Services may include:

  • Emotional support and grounding strategies

  • Trauma-informed counselling and creative expression

  • Assistance with coping and regulation

  • Support through Victims of Crime processes and reporting

  • Individualised reports and documentation as required

Each person’s experience is different, and support is tailored to meet their specific needs and recovery journey.

Personalising and creating specific resources/psychoeducation and activities for the client. This will be customised to their particular therapeutic goals. Please allow one hour for this session.​​​

Online Art Therapy

Online sessions are customised to meet each client’s needs, using a creative and gentle approach grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This model supports the development of regulation skills, values-based action, and emotional flexibility. This can be used to support clients who are experiencing:

  • trauma symptoms

  • relationship challenges, including retroactive jealousy issues 

  • depression

  • anxiety 

  • situational mutism 

  • emotional regulation issues

ABOUT SOAR ART THERAPY

 

Soar Art Therapy is a Melbourne based mental health service offering in person and online art therapy and play therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. We provide trauma-informed, neuroaffirming support using evidence-based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), creative expression, and sensory regulation techniques.


Founded by Vicki Soar, a registered Art Psychotherapist with ANZACATA and clinical member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). Vicki is also a registered as a victim support counsellor for victims of crime.
